After the first meeting, i did some thinking in regards to the objective of the processing table-screen. I had tentatively titled it SITE MODEL CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT. It was attempt to construct a working conceptual framework for my processing table, in terms of how the script might play out, and what type of script it will be.
JMC mentioned that it was a clearly boring title, and that i should be more inventitive because it clearly does not express any objective. Basically, the title sucks because it contain or allude to a thesis idea.
The following text was what I presented to JMC. In many ways he is right. But, it was a good exercise, and it lays a simple foundation that i can improve upon.
Objective:
To create an interactive field(processing table) that is a diagrammatic representation of the urban figure ground(the site). The field will have several hot spots that represents areas of similar typology, in essence satellite sites. It will also have a main hot spot function.
The field will have players that compete for resources and space. These players will have evolving qualities that allow them to exchange information(currency) and influence one another. The result of the competition will define the attributes of the main site and satellite sites.
The Game:
The field will contain several hot spots, including one main hot spot. These hotspots will expand and contract based on the aggregate interaction between the players. As the hotspots expand and contract they will re-influence the players.
The hot spots will be the location of an evolving geometry. The qualities of these geometries will change based on the interactions of the players. As the settings for the players are altered, the resulting form that the hotsports take on will differ.
The Players:
The players are independent Agents that are capable of influencing one another, and the spae that they occupy.
There will be three types of Agents.
Static Agents - These agents have footprints that do not move. Instead they are large masses that attract or repel other agents.
Mobile Agents - These are agents that have a high rate of movement, and high rate of transmission between one another, they are numerous and only as an aggregate, do they effect the surrounding conditions.
Behavioral Agents - These agents are rare. They will rerpesent conditions and they will go about influencing hte behavior and qualities of other agents
