I’ve seen a lot of implementations of the multi-touch screens on the web, and the various boxes that house the surface. I should probably consider creating a design paradigm around the box. It’s not pertinent to the thesis idea, but as a designer, having some consideration for the presentation artifact is important. Plus, its sort of sexy in the way new technology is always sexy during early adopted. Architecture seems to always lag behing the rest of the other field in that regards. I suppose i no longer find maya and various other 3d modeling applications sexy. I can’t believe we are still using these tools. We’re barely beginning to ride the parametric wave. Which is in a sense design through algorithm, and parameters. Why would you want to be locked into these bloated software geared towards other industries. Maybe there’s a different way to design digitally? Imagine designing with out the mouse, in a nearly sculptural manner. Imaging making your own tools for that.
I’m getting off the point…I think I will create a box that is easy to dissemble, and also has capacity to have swap out various shells. So a frame, that has attachments points for the panels. Hopefully if I have time, I will be able to design a nice panel.
Here is a list of box design ideas
