Thesis

Sci-Arc Thesis program brought in Silvia Lavin for a conversation with Hernan Diaz on the state of student thesis projects.  She was foward about her position on why she removed the thesis program while at UCLA as a Director.  And the discussion mainly illuminated the pedagogical basis for a thesis, and affirmation that the thesis project is not a singular individual project but an academic institutional project.

Beyond the politics of thesis, she humorously brought up the “personalization” of thesis and the general desire of students to stay within that perspective.
